Today (August 08, 2025) the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research (MUR) has announced the official number of seats that will be available for EU and Non-EU students who wish to study medicine, dentistry OR NOW VETERINARY in Italy in English. In this article we have summarised the number of seats for private medical schools, public medical schools, veterinary schools and dentistry schools that offer courses in English.

Here is a main summary of changes for public universities from 2024 to 2025:Â
– TOR VERGATA seats in Tirana, Albania???? 150 non-EU seats (the AcadIMAT team is currently looking into this)
– Catania medicine: EU seats 30→0, non-EU seats 30→60
– Bologna medicine: EU seats 97 → 130
– Federico II medicine: EU seats 15 → 25, non-EU 25 → 45
– Tor Vergata medicine: EU seats 40 → 60, non-EU 15 → 20
– Inclusion of veterinary seats at Bologna! EU 45, non-EU 5
– Siena dentistry: 23 → 33, non-EU decrease 12 → 2

Hi Ashraf, our discord community has a lot of channels you can ask questions. Be wary of joining groups or organizations that will directly help/charge you to help with registration. We have heard a lot of horror stories over the years, as they tend to be quite exploitative and just incorrect.

The marco polo seats aren’t separated in the official MUR bandi I believe, it’s information you could probably find in the individual university call to applicants instead.
Hello do you think I can still revise for the IMAT was revising in July but stopped due to procrastination and since then I haven’t revised; I did Alevels in biology and psychology and I’m currently studying biomedical science and completed my foundation year, do I still have time?
You still have over a month, with intense prep you can definitely still make it!
Is there really only 2 spots for dentistry program in Siena university?
We’re hoping it was a typo and they will publish a correction, but in the original decreto by the ministry of education only had 2

Is it possible that with your IMAT score you can only apply to one school?
Non-Eu students can only apply to one university, EU students can choose all of them!
Hello, would you please also list the universities which have open seats for admissions to years subsequent to the first year? So far I only saw that Bologna has 2 seats for incoming 2nd year students. Are there more universities which have open seats for incoming transfer students? Thank you!
Hi you’ll need to check each universities call to applicants, there’s no central place to find this information unfortunately.
Do all the applicants should have completed the high school degree, or does a fresh grade 12 student eligible to register?
To be able to enroll and eventually complete exams you’ll need a DoV which requires you to have completed 12 years of formal education. If you’re not yet done with high school, there’s no point in applying this year. You do the IMAT the year you plan to enroll in. So if you do the IMAT in September 2025, you will start first year of university in October 2025 which will have required you to complete your schooling.
